TÜSSİDE to Develop Agricultural Strategies for Eastern Black Sea Region (DOKAP)

TUBITAK TUSSIDE and DOKAP signed a research and development contract on May 30, 2016 to investigate the investment potential of agricultural production in the DOKAP provinces of Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gumushane, Samsun, Tokat, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize.

The project consists of four main work packages; inventory of agricultural production and agriculture based industry; analysis of the current status and the potential of agricultural production and trade based industry; development and investment strategies, and development of a cluster roadmap.

TÜSSİDE established teams for the project that include the Karadeniz Agricultural Research Institute (KTAE), private sector representatives and university stakeholders.   Within the scope of the two year project, internal and external market analyzes required for the development of agro-based industry will be conducted and promising products will be identified, followed by research to  develop strategies to stimulate production. In the final stage of the project, a road map to building a cluster that can further develop and implement the agricultural strategies for the DOKAP region.
