INTRODUCTION

Turkish Management Sciences Institute (TUSSIDE) was established in 1980 as a result of collaboration agreement between National Education Department (NED) and Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) in order to perform training, consulting, research and publication in the area of administrative sciences.

Detaching from NED in 2004, TUSSIDE became an R&D institute reporting directly to TUBITAK. Having its own team of experts, facility designed with the focus on education, and 35 years of field experience, TUSSIDE has run more than 500 large scale projects and provided training to more than 300.000 middle and high rank  administrators in public sector. In addition, TUSSIDE signed agreements of collaboration with universities in order to improve its proficiency in the areas of expertise.

Organizational System Solutions

Studies for the development of management systems in the public and private sectors are carried out according to the TUSSIDE Organizational System Solution Model. This model includes strategic management, process management, performance management, human resources management, project management, internal control and social studies (reputation and satisfaction analysis, etc.) and focuses on the areas of improving the system in an integrated manner. In addition, these projects aim to guarantee the success of e-government projects. Moreover, with the brand owned by TUSSIDE User Registration "Joint Intelligence Platform ®”, problems of world industry and the public corporations are addressed and solved. Also, national and international events are organized.

Academies

In this context, Leadership School and Middle East, the Balkans and Central Asian countries seek the introduction of country managers and management trainees, training and social activities. This academy also aims at improving international cooperation. Codification of institutional development and competency-based training tool for the development of priority Leadership School, Academy of Entrepreneurship, SME Academy, Public Career Academy and the Young Academy has been established.

Entrepreneurship Academy organizes training programs for the spread of a culture of entrepreneurship in our country. In this context, the Ministry of National Education (MONE), in cooperation with the 15,000 professional and technical training for administrators and teachers of entrepreneurship and leadership study program was initiated. However, training programs for technology-based entrepreneurs are carried out within the scope of this academy.

SME Academy, which is an important industry in our country, conducts training programs for SMEs. Innovation R & D Project Management, Cleaner Production (Green Manufacturing) programs in the areas of operations continues to be created.

Public Career Academy, the requirements of public institutions at all levels and the position of the employee for the purposes of the institution systematically identifies competency-based training needs. Then the holistic development of its employees and the public institutions and governing institutions address the needs of the curriculum and programs in line with the design and implementation of training programs that can guide institutions.

Young Academy for the development of scientific culture in our society invites the first / second grade students and high school students to explore the nature of science in a funny and exciting way, "Science Camp" designs and implements training programs. Young Academy not only trains future entrepreneurs and leaders of our students but also realizes "Leadership and Entrepreneurship Camps".

Health Economics and Management R&D

Healthcare expenditures play an increasingly important role in national economic development.  Our Project development and management work on the Turkish Social Security Institute’s health insurance reimbursement policies is directly tied to the nation’s health economy.  The “Social Security Institute Hospital Inspection and Healthcare Services Quality Improvement Project” was designed to identify areas where national health funding could be better managed by improving efficiencies and reducing waste.  With this objective, the Project team looked at health insurance reimbursement policies from a number of perspectives including resource utilization waste, preventable medical errors, developing quality indicators, and reducing costs related to hospital acquired infections.   

The “Social Security Institute Updating and Revising the Formulary with Pharmaceutical Reimbursement Policies Project” focuses on improving public health status, efficiencies in healthcare services, healthcare quality, patient satisfaction, and sustainability by developing an effective and evidence-based decision making system.
