MÜSİAD "Information Technologies Sector Summit 2013" It was held at TUBITAK TUSSİDE.
The Sectoral Summit of the Information Society Strategy and Vision 2023 Conference was held on March 30, 2013 at the TUBITAK Turkish Industry and Management Institute. The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu, Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Nail Olpak, President of MÜSİAD, MÜSAİD members and companies from the IT sector. Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, said that they aim to increase the number of R&D personnel from 60 thousand to 300 thousand and the share of R&D in national income to 3 percent for the target of 2023, and that a new economic order must be established for this. Stating that the most important sector of the new economy will be Information Technologies and that it is necessary to produce products that are light in weight and heavy in cost, Kavranoğlu emphasized that it is not possible for Turkey to develop with a few technology companies supported by the state, and that it is important for the state to trust the Turkish private sector and to provide them with job opportunities.
The panel continued with speeches by Nail Olpak, President of MÜSİAD, Tuncay Dönmez, Chairman of the Information Technologies Sector Board of MÜSİAD, Bekir Sami Nalbantoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Information Systems, Erkin Fındık, President of TÜBİDER Information Sector Association, Dr. Ahmet Kaplan, President of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBİM), Mehmet Önder, General Manager of Uyum Soft Information Systems and Technologies Inc. and Emin Sadık Aydın, Head of the Information Society Department of the Ministry of Development.
