Two science camps were held during the semester break with the cooperation between the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (ASPB) General Directorate of Children's Services and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.
A total of 52 students from Bingöl, Isparta, Muş and Giresun provinces participated in the science camps, which included 7th and 8th grade students with high academic success, who benefited from ASPB's social services.
The camps, which started on January 21, were held at TÜSSİDE as a boarding school with guide university students. In the program, which included TÜBİTAK Institutes UME and the Institute of Earth and Marine Sciences, students had the opportunity to meet scientists and gain new information through applied activities on measurement and earth sciences.
The program also included many workshops, mainly in the field of science, such as Alternative Energies, Motion and Friction, and Robotics Workshop. Students also visited Izmit Science Center. The program included educational activities, art workshops and teamwork to develop students' leadership and strategic thinking skills.
TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE Science Camps aim to develop students' observation, discovery, questioning, problem solving and model building skills. The aim of the workshops is to make children aware of how different disciplines work together by using these skills and how to solve the problems in their daily lives with scientific techniques.
