Science Camps Organized in Cooperation with TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, ASPB and Filli Boya Received 1st Prize in The Peer Awards International Competition

TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE was awarded in the Corporate Social Responsibility category of "The 2016-17 Peer Awards For Excellence" for its Science Camp project, which supports the academic and psychological development of children with limited financial means, prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Filli Boya and with the support of academicians.

The 7th "The Peer Awards for Excellence" award ceremony, which offers a platform where internationally inspiring ideas are evaluated, was held at London's famous venue Fortnum & Mason on Friday, March 24th. At the award ceremony, where the world's leading brand projects were evaluated in various categories, Filli Boya received an award with the "Filli Boya Science Camp" project in the "Education for Young People" sub-heading of the Corporate Responsibility category.

The projects, whose applications are first examined for quality, clarity and relevance, are evaluated on the basis of the benefit they realize for the target audience, and then on the criteria of effectiveness, innovation and inspiration. The projects that receive the highest score after the evaluations made by both a special jury and their competitors qualify for the finals.

A First in Turkey with Modeling

The third phase of the project, which was realized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies General Directorate of Child Services and Filli Boya, was completed in 2016. Filli Boya Science Camp Project, which is a first in Turkey with its modeling, aims to improve the observation, discovery, questioning, problem solving and model building skills of children with high academic achievement who are supported by their families with socio-economic support without being institutionalized, and enables them to be better equipped for life. In the Science Camp, children experience how different disciplines work together by using these skills through a series of educational and scientific activities, and work on how to solve the problems in their daily lives with scientific techniques.
