2018 Winter Science Camps were held

In cooperation with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (ASPB) General Directorate of Child Services and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, two science camps were organized during the semester break.

A total of 52 students from Bingöl, Isparta, Muş and Giresun provinces participated in the Science camps, which were attended by 7th and 8th grade students with high academic success who benefit from the social services of ASPB.

Starting on January 21, the camps were held at TUSSIDE with university students as boarders. In the program, in which UME and Institute of Earth and Marine Sciences from TÜBİTAK Institutes took part, students had the opportunity to meet scientists and gained new knowledge through practical activities related to measurement and earth sciences.

The program also included many workshops mainly in the field of science, such as Alternative Energies, Motion and Friction, Robot Workshop. Students also visited Izmit Science Center. The program included educational activities to develop leadership and strategic thinking skills, art workshops and teamwork with students.

TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE Science Camps aim to improve students' observation, discovery, questioning, problem solving and model building skills. By using these skills, it is aimed for children to realize how different disciplines work together and how to solve the problems in their daily lives with scientific techniques through workshops.
