As part of the project conducted between DOKAP and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, the aim was to inventory agricultural organizations operating in the DOKAP region; to evaluate their capacities, core activities, and institutional structures; and to identify the competencies and needs of organizations selected based on specific criteria. In this context, the training and consultancy needs of more than 600 agricultural organizations in the region were determined, and a roadmap for capacity building was planned.
Workshops
Workshops were held in Rize, Ordu, and Amasya as part of the ongoing project. The programs began with introductory speeches about the project and continued with the sharing of best practices from Turkey and around the world. Competitiveness analyses of agricultural organizations were conducted during the workshops, and based on these analyses, needs were identified. Participants provided feedback on the content of training and consultancy programs designed to address these needs. Representatives from public institutions, chairpersons of agricultural chambers, NGOs, union and cooperative presidents from the DOKAP provinces (Artvin, Bayburt, Gümüşhane, Rize, Amasya, Çorum, Samsun, Tokat, Trabzon, Ordu, Giresun) attended the workshops.
Technical Visits
Technical visits were conducted within the project framework to increase awareness and facilitate knowledge transfer regarding successful examples. The program was designed to allow participants to observe successful examples on-site and to explore new infrastructures and practices in the food sector. As part of the program, agricultural cooperatives and organizations in Bursa, such as the Katırlı Village Agricultural Development Cooperative, Gemlik Commodity Exchange, Bursa Agricultural Cooperatives Union, and Kumlukalan Village Agricultural Development Cooperative, were visited. Additionally, TÜGİP (Turkey Food and Innovation Platform) located within TÜBİTAK MAM was visited to raise awareness of local food practices, and its infrastructure was presented to participants.
