The "1st Focus Group Meeting" within the scope of the "Study of Safe Shelters and Mooring Systems on Our Coasts Project" jointly carried out by TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE and the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications General Directorate of Shipyards and Coastal Structures was held on 8 April 2015 at TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE facilities. The meeting was attended by 26 people in total, including the TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE project team and project consultants, the MoTI project team, sector representatives from public, private sector, universities and various NGOs.

In the first session of the focus group meeting, the scope of the project and the project phases realized so far were shared. In the following sessions, the criteria for site selection of mooring and shelter systems and the weighting of the site selection criteria presented by TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE Project Team were carried out respectively. In the closing session of the workshop, all participants were given the right to speak one by one and their thoughts and suggestions about the ongoing project were evaluated from the perspective of knowledge and experience.
