Climate Change was discussed with local representatives in Edirne.
The first step of the "Project on Raising Awareness on the Impacts of Climate Change and Adaptation to Climate Change", jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Environmental Management and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, was taken with the Workshop held in Edirne on November 1st.
The workshop was attended by Edirne Deputy Governor. Mustafa Ergün, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Edirne Provincial Branch Manager Sami Öztürk and many other engineers, expert staff, academicians and local representatives from public institutions and organizations.
The main purpose of the Workshops, which will also be held in Izmir, Trabzon and Konya, is to identify the impacts of climate change felt by local authorities, academics, NGOs and students in their geographical regions, to identify regional priority areas and to receive their suggestions.
The project will continue with workshops in Izmir on November 15, Trabzon on November 29 and Konya on December 6.
