The project for the creation of the Fishery Coastal Structures Development Roadmap and Governance Model has commenced through an agreement signed between TÜSSİDE and the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Within the scope of the project, activities will be conducted to analyze the current status and needs of fishery coastal structures in Turkey, classify them based on comparable country policies and current literature, establish an effective governance structure and data architecture, develop operational models, and determine the development roadmap.
With the implementation of the project;
- The current status of all fishery coastal structures in the 28 coastal and 4 inland provinces in Turkey will be analyzed in detail.
- A detailed data inventory and data architecture for fishery coastal structures will be created.
- Infrastructure and superstructure needs of the structures will be identified, and basic solution recommendations will be developed for implementation.
- Investment recommendations will be prioritized through a model based on strategic outputs using scientific methods.
- Based on these recommendations, a roadmap and action plan will be created for short, medium, and long terms.
- Through national research and field studies, fishery coastal structures will be classified, and operational models will be established for each identified class.
- A decision model for landing points for fisheries will be developed.
- A governance model for fishery coastal structures in Turkey will be established.
