Soil Sampling Studies Continue within the Scope of the Research Project on Determination of Organic Agriculture Basins in DOKAP Region

Within the scope of the 24-month protocol signed on 30.05.2016 with the cooperation of TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE and Eastern Black Sea Project (DOKAP) Regional Development Administration, organic agriculture basins will be determined in the provinces of the region (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Tokat, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize) and the future strategies of the region on organic agriculture will be determined with the "Research Project for Determining Organic Agriculture Basins in DOKAP Region".

Within the scope of the "Mapping of Organic Agriculture Basins" work package of the project, soil sampling was completed in the provinces of Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize. A total of 2100 samples were taken from 1050 points in these provinces and delivered to the laboratories of the Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute (KTAE) for soil analysis.

In November, soil sampling will be completed by taking 584 samples from a total of 287 points in Tokat province, which was included in DOKAP borders later. Following the completion of soil sampling, soil analyses will be initiated. With the completion of soil analyses, mapping studies for organic agriculture basins in the DOKAP Region will be carried out.
