The closing meeting of the "Olive and Olive Oil Sector National Clustering Strategies Development Project", carried out jointly by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, General Directorate of Plant Production and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, was held in Izmir on 25 November 2015.

The project was implemented to increase production, exports and productivity through effective clustering strategies in the olive and olive oil sector. In this direction, meetings were held with expert teams consisting of the Ministry, private sector, academics and development agencies under the leadership of the TÜSSİDE Project team; Field studies, domestic/international technical inspection visits and workshops were carried out. In line with the analysis and opinions of the data obtained, national clustering strategies of our country's olive and olive oil sector have been determined.

At the closing meeting, the activities carried out within the scope of the project, the results obtained, and the strategies created were introduced, and awareness about clustering in the olive and olive oil sector was increased. Companies operating in the olive and olive oil sector, universities, unions, relevant public institutions and organizations and representatives of the sector attended the meeting.

The strategies and policies created within the scope of the project will be used by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock in the development of regulations, policies and supports regarding the olive and olive oil sector in the coming period.
