Workshops were held between 28 September - 8 October 2020 within the scope of the "National Space Program Strategy and Roadmap Project" carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.
In the workshops attended by important stakeholders of the space sector, the opinions and evaluations of the participants were received regarding the civil space programs and targets of the National Space Strategy.
In the workshops, which were carried out with the methods and approaches designed by TÜSSİDE, studies were carried out on eight different themes. Participants shared their individual views in the areas of Space and Ground Sector, Material Technologies, Launch Technologies, Space Sciences, Education and Human Resources, International Relations and Bilateral Cooperation, Space Law, Space Weather, Private Sector and Ecosystem, and then evaluated these views through group work.
In the workshops, the current situation was first assessed in the relevant theme, followed by an evaluation of implementation areas and core competencies, and finally, in-depth and consensus-based work on strategic goals was carried out.
Mr. Mehmet Fatih KACIR, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Mr. Serdar Hüseyin YILDIRIM, President of the Turkish Space Agency, and Mr. İsmail DOĞAN, Director of TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE Institute, participated in the Workshops. The Workshops lasted for six days and were attended by representatives from universities, industry and the public sector, as well as participants from various sectors such as law and education.
The results of the workshops will be analyzed and evaluated by TÜSSİDE and will be used to formulate the National Space Program and Strategy.
