National Space Program Launched

The launch of the Turkish national space program, prepared within the scope of the "National Space Program Strategy and Roadmap Project" carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, was held on February 9, 2021. The National Space Program Strategy and Road Map, which determines Turkey's 10-year vision, strategy, goals and projects in the field of space, was shared with the public with the participation of President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN and Minister of Industry and Technology Mr. Mustafa VARANK.

Turkey's goals in the space field were explained in 10 items. These 10-item goals are:

  • Moon Mission
  • Bringing Satellite Production Under One Roof and Domestic Satellite Development Program
  • Regional Positioning and Timing System
  • Access to Space and Spaceport
  • Turkish Astronaut and Science Mission
  • Technological Research on Space Weather
  • Observation and Tracking of Space Objects from the Ground
  • Development of the Space Industry Ecosystem
  • Space Awareness and Human Resources Development
  • Space Technologies Development Zone
