"Seed Sector National Strategy Development Project" was signed on November 25, 2015 between TUBITAK Turkish Industry Sevk and Administration Institute (TÜSSİDE) and Turkish Seed Growers Association (TÜRKTOB).

Speaking at the opening meeting of the project, TÜRKTOB President Yıldıray Gençer said that the Turkish Seed Growers Association and its sub-associations, which were established with the Seed Law published in 2006, continue to provide great services to the Turkish seed sector.

TÜRKTOB President Mr. Gençer stated that the seed sector, which has grown in every field with a great momentum in recent years with the "Seed Sector National Strategy Development Project" to be carried out in cooperation with TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE, should now continue its way with more effective strategies and policies: "With this project, with the perspective of innovation in the Turkish seed sector; production, productivity, export and competitiveness of our country will increase and Turkey will become a leading country in its region".

Afterwards, the details of the implementation of the project, including the definition of the project, strategic management, analysis of the current situation, and formulation of a national strategy for the seed sector were discussed.

Within the scope of the "Seed Sector National Strategy Development Project" signed by TÜRKTOB President Yıldıray Gençer and TÜSSİDE Director Tezer Battal, workshops, in-depth interviews, stakeholder surveys, modeling activities, domestic and international study visits, competitiveness and needs analyses will be conducted for 15 months.

After the "National Strategy for the Seed Sector" is finalized, it will be announced to all stakeholders and the public.
