The closing meeting of the project "Updating the Drug Reimbursement List" initiated by TÜSSİDE in cooperation with SSI was held in Ankara.
The closing meeting of the project "Updating and Revision Studies on Pharmaceutical Reimbursement Policies and the List of Compensable Drugs" conducted by TUSSIDE was held at Bilkent Conference Center in Ankara. A large number of experts from the Social Security Institution, Ministry of Health, Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, Turkish Public Health Institution, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Finance, Undersecretariat of Treasury, universities, private sector and various pharmaceutical associations attended the meeting and shared information and experience on the aims, objectives, activities and outputs of the project.
Tezer Battal, Director of TÜSSİDE, emphasized that in order to ensure the sustainability of the health system, it is necessary to control the ever-increasing health expenditures without reducing the quality of the service received by the citizens, and expressed his satisfaction with the project and stated that they would like to sign even more successful projects in the future.
In her speech, Kirstin Öztürk, R&D Coordinator for Health Economics and Management, emphasized the successful establishment of Turkey's health system and drew attention to the health data that is regularly kept in Turkey. She said that with easier access to the treasure trove of data we have, very valuable projects can emerge in the future and that she is excited about this important step taken with the pharmaceutical project.
Following the closing speech by Dr. Mümine Nurdan Doğukan, Head of Policy and Project Department of SSI, the program ended with the presentation of plaques to the project team by Dr. Alper Süzen, Deputy Director General of the Social Security Institution.
