Within the scope of the "Seed Sector National Strategy Development Project" signed between Turkish Seed Growers' Association (TÜRKTOB) and TUBITAK TÜSSİDE, sectoral current situation assessment workshops were completed with the Sub-associations.

Workshops were held on March 21-22-23 with the Plant Breeders' Sub-association (BİSAB), Ornamental Plant Producers' Sub-association (SÜSBİR) and Seed Growers' Sub-association (TYAB). On April 25 and 26, the current situation of seedling and seedling producers was discussed with the Sub-union of Sapling Producers (FÜAB) and the Sub-union of Seedling Producers (FİDEBİRLİK). Finally, the current situation of the seed industry and production and seed dealers were evaluated under the umbrella of the Seed Industrialists and Producers Sub-union (TSÜAB) on May 3 and the Seed Distributors Sub-union (TODAB) on May 4.

Sector representatives, academics, experts from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, employees of other public institutions and organizations, Union employees and other stakeholders took part in each of the workshops. In each one-day session, SWOT Analysis and Competitiveness Analysis studies were carried out by taking the views of the participants.

Moderated by TÜSSİDE, the workshops will conclude on May 17 and 18 with a general evaluation of the Turkish seed sector.
