A Science Camp was held for students from Hakkari in cooperation with TR Hakkari Governorship, Hakkari Provincial Directorate of National Education, Cinegolds and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.
Successful 7th and 8th grade students studying in public schools in Hakkari participated in the camp, which was held as a boarding session at TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE Gebze Campus between 20-26 August. The project, which was carried out with the support of Hakkari Governorship, was based on the scientific, technological and human resources infrastructure of TÜBİTAK institutes. The camp aims to show students that the world of science is accessible with the help of interactive studies with scientists.
Within the scope of the program, students visited TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute, MAM Materials Institute, Earth and Marine Sciences Institute, Energy and Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Institutes and carried out experiments and educational activities with their researchers. The program also included many workshops, mainly in the field of science, such as Alternative Energies, Motion and Friction, Insulation, Model Aircraft Construction and STEM. Within the scope of the program, students also participated in events at Izmit Science Center and SEKA Paper Museum. Finally, it was aimed to develop students' teamwork and strategic thinking skills through educational activities and art workshops held with students.
