With the protocol signed by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the Municipality of Esenler, the first smart city project to be built from scratch in Turkey was launched in Esenler, Istanbul. Esenler, where it is aimed to build more than fifty thousand independent units on an area of approximately 8.5 million square meters; A total of 10 focus areas and 106 smart city solutions are being evaluated, primarily in energy, environment, health, security and transportation focus areas. TÜSSIDE plays a role as a solution partner in this assessment within the scope of creating feasibility and roadmaps.

TÜSSIDE continues to evaluate the region, which will be a test laboratory function that lives with Turkey's smart city vision, primarily for the region and then generalized to Turkey. Scope of work; The economic, social and environmental analysis of the smart city is presented. In addition, the current situation in Turkey regarding the proposed technologies within the scope of feasibility studies is presented and their possible effects on the industry are evaluated.

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to establish a Smart City-specific Technology Development Zone in order to ensure the sustainability of the technologies to be produced in the smart city. Feeding the Technology Development Zone from the data and technologies to be produced within the city; It is aimed to commercialize the experience here and to reveal application developers on a global scale. In this context, TÜSSIDE plays a role as a stakeholder in the creation of the IoT platform and the governance model.
