"Development of Production Models and Market Channels in Greenhouse Cultivation Project" was initiated with the contract signed between TÜSSİDE and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Crop Production.
With the works to be carried out in the project:
- Establishment of suitable cropping patterns and cultivation models that will meet the optimal production with minimum cost on the basis of micro basins in greenhouse vegetable cultivation in Turkey,
- Identifying business models for increasing greenhouse vegetable production in regions close to metropolitan areas,
- Identification of existing and potential marketing channels through research and development studies,
- It is aimed to create producer and investor guides for greenhouse vegetable production.
In this context, it is aimed that the project outputs will contribute to the processes of determining agricultural policies and effectively reflecting them to the field.
The inauguration of the project and the first technical committee meeting was held in Ankara on 5 - 6 December 2022 and started with the speech of Mr. Mehmet Hasdemir, General Director of Crop Production. The meeting started with the speech of Dr. Mehmet Hasdemir, Director General of Crop Production. Subsequently, Head of Field and Horticulture Department, Mr. Dr. Veyis Yurtkulu. Dr. Veyis Yurtkulu, Head of the Department of Field and Horticulture, and Mr. Barış Çarıkcı, Senior Principal Researcher at TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE. The program continued with the speeches of Mr. Barış Çarıkcı. Following the opening speeches, the program included presentations by the members of the Technical Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and TUBITAK TUSSIDE, and ended with the evaluation of the project schedule and the Stakeholder Ecosystem Study on Greenhouse Production, Urban Agriculture and Vertical Agriculture.
