The workshop was held on February 28, 2017 at Konya Dedeman Hotel within the scope of the "Study and Feasibility Project for the Establishment of Konya - Karaman - Mersin Industry and Trade Corridor" carried out jointly by the KOP Regional Development Administration and the Turkish Industry Transfer and Administration Institute (TÜSSİDE).

The protocol speeches started with the opening speech of Mr. İhsan BOSTANCI, President of KOP Regional Development Administration, continued with the speech of Mr. Memiş KÜTÜKÇÜ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Chamber of Industry, and ended with the speech of Mr. Ziya ALTUNYALDIZ and proceeded to the workshop section.
In the workshop section, informative presentations were made to the participants first. After the informative presentations, prioritization studies of the model criteria were carried out separately for each stakeholder in the project where scientific modeling studies will be carried out for the selection of the location and type of "Special Economic Zone". In the next sessions of the workshop, 3 different sessions were held, namely "Current Situation Determination of Konya Karaman Mersin provinces with the Special Economic Zone approach" and "Developing Suggestions for the Elimination of Bottlenecks in the Creation of Special Economic Zone in Konya Karaman Mersin provinces".
As a result of the studies, a pre-feasibility study will be carried out for the creation of a Special Economic Zone and trade corridor covering Konya - Karaman - Mersin provinces for the KOP Region, which is rapidly moving towards becoming an alternative for industrial and trade activities that are stuck in the Marmara Region.
