First Science and Technology Camp was held with Beşiktaş District High School Students

Within the scope of the protocol signed with Beşiktaş District Directorate of National Education on December 10, 2019, a Science and Technology Camp was held for 9th and 10th grade students from various high schools including Kabataş Erkek High School, Sabancı Anatolian High School, Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School, ITU Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.

The one-week residential camp program, designed to introduce high school students to emerging technologies and to integrate engineering processes and new technologies with software so that students can experience designing and producing new products, was well received by students. The camp started with the question of what innovation is and continued with the transfer of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, internet of things, robotics to students through educational applications. In the following days, the participants were divided into five working groups and each group was asked to present their work by taking part in the stages of identifying the need for a problem they encountered, developing a solution, designing by integrating new technologies, prototyping and improving the product. During the process, students were given hands-on training in areas such as algorithmic thinking, electronic components and printed circuit applications, Ardunio, 3D design and the working groups were asked to shape their projects accordingly.

On Sunday, January 12, the Camp started with introductions and ended on Friday, January 17, with the presentation of the projects prepared by the students in groups to the jury and then the closing ceremony. The camps are planned to continue throughout the year.
