The Research Project on Determination of Organic Agriculture Basins in the DOKAP Region was initiated with an agreement signed between the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey, Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP) and T. T. TUBITAK TUSSİDE in order to determine the agricultural basins suitable for organic agriculture and which products can be produced organically in these areas by examining the soil and water quality of the lands suitable for agriculture in the provinces of the region (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize) as well as the climate characteristics in these areas, to initiate and expand organic agriculture in the determined basins, and to put forward a strategic road map.It was initiated with the agreement signed between the Ministry of Development, Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP) and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.
Within the scope of the project, areas that can be organic agriculture basins in the provinces of the DOKAP Region will be identified and mapped. Afterwards, current situation and needs analyses will be made regarding infrastructure, organization, input supply, and marketing opportunities that may be effective in the development of the organic agriculture sector, and development strategies will be determined and project design studies will be completed. In addition, the level of knowledge, tendencies and attitudes of producers engaged in conventional agriculture in the areas determined as organic agriculture basin candidates will be determined, training needs will be analyzed and a training program will be prepared to increase the level of knowledge on organic agriculture in the region. In addition, a clustering road map for the organic agriculture sector will also be prepared.
The project will last for a total of 24 months;
