A study visit was organized to Trabzon Free Zone by TÜSSİDE experts within the scope of the DOKAP Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Project Free Zones work package. Representatives of Trabzon Free Zone Founding and Operating Company Transbaş, Trabzon Free Zone Directorate and Rize Port Management, as well as representatives of Tiryaki Agro Gıda Sanayi and Komtek companies operating in the region, also took part in the field study. During the 1-day visit, TÜSSİDE experts gave information to the participants about the Institute, the project and the work package, and information was received from the authorities about the functioning of the free zones in the region and in Turkey. During the study, managements and companies were also asked to present the areas they saw as problems regarding the activities and legislation of the regions and their solution suggestions.

Work within the scope of the Free Zone work package will continue with field visits to the Free Zones in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Izmir and Mersin in order to examine in detail the Samsun Free Zone in the DOKAP Region as well as other national application examples.
