TÜDEMSAŞ External Stakeholder Common Sense Platform workshop was held at Sivas Thermal Hotel on May 22nd within the scope of the "Strategic Management, Process Management and Internal Control System" project initiated with Türkiye Demiryolu Makinaları Sanayi A.Ş. (TÜDEMSAŞ), one of the important companies of Sivas, to develop and improve the corporate governance system of the company. At the workshop, which was attended by leading railroad organizations, bureaucrats, academicians and private sector representatives, ideas were exchanged to determine TÜDEMSAŞ's strengths, aspects open to improvement, opportunities and threats it faces, and to create a road map. Among the participants were representatives of TCDD, TCDD Tasimacilik AŞ, TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜVASAŞ, private sector wagon manufacturers, logistics companies, public institutions and trade unions, and subcontractors working for TÜDEMSAŞ across Turkey.

Speaking at the program, Sivas Governor Davut Gül pointed out that TÜDEMSAŞ is an organization that is getting out of its shell and developing more and more every day, and stated that the institution has become able to meet the needs of the future within the scope of national product mobilization in recent years. He emphasized that TÜDEMSAŞ, which has been in the life of Sivas and Sivas people since 1939, works like a school, training qualified personnel and contributing to the national economy and the development of the province.

Murat Kavak, Deputy General Manager of TCDD, emphasized that the company, which started its operations in 1939 under the name of Traction Workshop, contributed significantly to the development of the country and stated that the first national railway vehicle, a steam locomotive named Bozkurt, was produced at TÜDEMSAŞ. Stating that these breakthroughs stalled in the following years and railways were ignored for about 50 years, Kavak said that after 2002, railways were again adopted as the primary means of rail transportation. Reminding that national and domestic mobilization was declared, Kavak stated that nearly 60 billion has been spent on railways so far. Gül emphasized that a new page should be opened in Sivas from now on, and stated that there is a need for a breakthrough formed by the private sector that makes domestic and national production under the leadership of TÜDEMSAŞ and produces for TÜDEMSAŞ.

TÜDEMSAŞ General Manager Yıldıray Koçarslan expressed his gratitude to those who participated in the TÜDEMSAŞ External Stakeholder Common Sense Platform on strategic management, process management and business control system organized with TÜSSİDE affiliated to TUBITAK.
