The contract for the "Country Model Feasibility Study on Agricultural Information System Applications" was signed between TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Information Technologies on 06.10.2022.

In our country with the studies to be carried out within the scope of the project;

  • Providing accurate and reliable data at macro and micro level in the field of agriculture
  • Recording the entire chain from seed to table
  • Institutionalization of annual monitoring and evaluation studies
  • Ensuring effective use of agricultural information system applications

is targeted. For these purposes, a strategy and roadmap for a country-specific agricultural yield estimation, stock management and production planning mechanism will be developed, and existing agricultural information system applications and monitoring stations will be analyzed.

The studies to be carried out will have a high national impact by serving the creation of a smart decision support system that provides yield forecasting and risk management, ensuring the effective management of the agricultural sector, which consists of many components from animal registration system to food safety, and disseminating digital agriculture practices. Among the objectives of the project is to evaluate the effects of global climate change, which has the potential to negatively affect agricultural production potential in the short, medium and long term, on a macro basin basis within decision support systems. In addition, this study will contribute to the determination of science and technology needs and policies in the field by providing important inputs to many national and international research and development studies.
