Horizon 2020 Program for Turkish Industry was held with wide participation at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Congressium.
An event named "Horizon 2020 for Turkish Industry" was organized by TÜBİTAK in Ankara on 6 May 2015, in order to increase the awareness and knowledge of senior officials of our country's industrial organizations about the EU Horizon 2020 Program and to enable them to benefit from the incentives within the scope of the Horizon 2020 Program to the maximum. Industry representatives from our country and Europe attended the event, which was attended by the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Fikri Işık, with their speeches and success stories.
The Importance of Horizon 2020 in the Integration Process with the EU
Emphasizing that our country's participation in the Horizon 2020 program shows the strong will in the field of cooperation for knowledge, experience and technology sharing, Minister Işık said, “We will continue to strongly support the Framework Programs, which are the most important indicator of our integration process with the EU. "In the negotiation process regarding accession to the Union as a full member, the only chapter we have been able to close so far is the "Science and Research" chapter." said.
Comprehensive Support to Turkish Industry from Horizon 2020
Touching on the comprehensive support and incentive programs provided by TÜBİTAK and the European Union, Minister Fikri Işık stated that the participation of industrial organizations in Horizon 2020 is important due to the changing structure of Horizon 2020, the strong emphasis on industry and the increasing expectations from the industry. Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Işık, who met with industry representatives during the coffee break, received great interest from our industrialists and answered the questions of the participants.
Horizon 2020 The World's Largest Civilian Research and Innovation Program
TÜBİTAK Vice President Prof. Dr. A presentation was made by Mehmet Çelik about the Horizon 2020 Program and the importance of Turkish Industry's participation in the program. In his speech, Çelik emphasized that the resources allocated to R&D and innovation in the private sector have increased and said, “Horizon 2020 stands out as an important environment of cooperation and experience as the world's largest civilian research and innovation program. Therefore, we attach great importance to the participation of our country, and especially our country's industry, in Horizon 2020 in order to increase our R&D and innovation experience.”
Within the scope of the event, ATOS Research and Innovation Director Josema CAVANILLAS, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly Mehmet BÜYÜKEKŞİ, Charge d'Affaires of the EU Delegation to Turkey Bela SZOMBATI made speeches stating the importance of Horizon 2020 for international cooperation, Arçelik EU Projects Executive Haluk GÖKMEN and Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association R&D Institute Director Tülay ÇAĞLAYAN ÖZLÜ shared her success stories in the EU Framework Programs with the participants. The program ended with the presentation of TÜBİTAK International Cooperation Department Head and Horizon 2020 National Coordinator Hakan KARATAŞ, "TÜBİTAK Incentive and Support Programs for the Horizon 2020 Programme", which attracted great attention.
