MÜSİAD “Information Technologies Sector Summit 2013” was Held at TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.
Information Society Strategy and 2023 Vision Conference Sectoral Summit Workshop was held on 30 March 2013 at TÜBİTAK Turkey Industrial Management Institute. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Prof. attended the conference. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu, MÜSİAD Chairman Nail Olpak, MÜSAİD members and companies from the IT sector attended. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Prof. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu mentioned that they aim to increase the number of R&D personnel from 60 thousand to 300 thousand and the R&D share in national income to 3 percent for the 2023 target, and that a new economic order must be established for this. Stating that the most important sector of the new economy will be Information Technologies and that products that are light in burden and heavy in price should be produced, Kavranoğlu emphasized that it is not possible for Turkey to develop with a few technology companies supported by the state, and also touched upon the importance of relying on the Turkish private sector as the state and providing them with job opportunities.
