Within the scope of the protocol signed on 30.05.2016 in cooperation with TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE and DOKAP, agricultural industry investments were made in the provinces of the region (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Tokat, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize) with the "DOKAP Region Agricultural Production and Agricultural Investment Potential Research Project". By investigating its potential, future strategies for the agricultural industry of the region will be determined.

DOKAP Region Agricultural Production and Agricultural Industry Investment Potential Research Project; It consists of 4 main work packages: Preparation of Agricultural Production and Agriculture-Based Industry Inventory, Analyzing the Current Situation and Potential of Agricultural Production and Agriculture-Based Industry, Determination of Development and Investment Strategies, and Preparation of Clustering Road Maps.

In order to carry out the activities within the scope of the project, project teams were formed under the project management of TÜSSİDE, including the Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute (KTAE), private sector and university stakeholders. Meetings are held with the project teams in order to reveal the current status and potential of agricultural production and industry, to determine what needs to be done to evaluate the potential, to analyze existing rural development support practices and to plan activities to activate these supports.

In the other stages of the project, which will last 24 months, domestic and foreign market analyzes needed for agriculture-based industrial development will be carried out, promising products will be identified and the steps to be taken to promote these products and conduct research on the products will be determined. In the final stage of the project, the development and investment strategies of agricultural production and agriculture-based industry will be determined and a cluster road map will be prepared.
