Coaster Shipowners and Operators Association (KOSDER), Istanbul Maritime Strategies and Research Institute Inc. "Maritime Sector R&D and Technology Vision Search Common Mind Platform Workshop", jointly organized by (IDEAS) and TÜBİTAK's Turkish Industrial Management and Management Institute (TÜSSİDE), was held in Gebze on May 11, hosted by TÜSSİDE.

The workshop held in collaboration with TÜSSİDE, KOSDER and IDEAS; Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Selçuk Sert, TÜSSİDE Chairman of the Board of Directors Tezer Battal, Wealth Fund Board Member Oral Erdoğan, Ship and Yacht Exporters Association President Başaran Bayrak, KOSDER Chairman of the Board of Directors Salih Zeki Çakır, Chairman of the Chamber of Marine Machinery Management Engineers Feramuz Aşkın, ABS Turkey Manager Seyfettin Tatlı, representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Türk Loydu Representatives and representatives from various branches of the maritime industry attended.

Tezer Battal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜSSİDE, made the opening speech of the workshop and gave information to the participants about TÜSSİDE and the work carried out there. Battal wished that the study would be beneficial for the maritime industry and thanked the participants for their support to the study.

KOSDER Chairman of the Board of Directors Salih Zeki Çakır, one of the opening speakers of the workshop, started his speech by thanking the participants for their support to the study and gave information about the purpose and content of the workshop.

In the workshop; At the tables consisting of maritime education, maritime industry, maritime trade and maritime tourism groups, participants actively discussed their ideas, positive developments in their fields of work, opportunities and threats and came up with common results.

Every topic discussed and every opinion expressed in the workshop will be included in the final report to be prepared by TÜSSİDE and will be delivered to the participants, relevant institutions and organizations in writing. The next goals of IDEAS and KOSDER will be to ensure the creation of a Maritime R&D policy based on these reports.
