The Research Project on Determination of Organic Agriculture Basins in the DOKAP Region (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize) in the provinces of the region (Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Samsun, Trabzon, Ordu and Rize) by examining the soil and water qualities of the lands suitable for agriculture, as well as the climate characteristics in these areas, determines the agricultural basins suitable for organic agriculture and which areas are suitable for agriculture. It was initiated with the agreement signed between the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Development Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP) and TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE in order to determine whether products can be produced organically, to initiate and disseminate organic agriculture in the determined basins, and to present a strategic road map.
Within the scope of the project, areas that can be organic agriculture basins in the provinces of the DOKAP Region will be identified and mapped. Then, the current situation and needs analysis regarding the infrastructure, organization, input supply and marketing opportunities that will be effective in the development of the organic agriculture sector will be made and development strategies will be determined and project work will be completed. In addition, the knowledge levels, tendencies and attitudes of conventional agricultural producers in areas determined as organic agriculture basin candidates regarding organic agriculture will be determined, training needs will be analyzed and a training program will be prepared to increase the level of knowledge about organic agriculture in the Region. In addition, a cluster road map for the organic agriculture sector will also be created.
The project will last 24 months in total;

- Analyzing the Current Situation of the Organic Agriculture Sector and Determining Development Strategies,
- Preparing a Training Program to Increase the Level of Knowledge on Organic Agriculture in the Region by Analyzing the Training Needs of Producers,
- Preparation of cluster road maps,
It consists of a total of 4 main work packages.
