TÜDEMSAŞ's Road Map was Discussed with External Stakeholders

One of the important organizations of Sivas, Türkiye Railway Makinaları Sanayi A.Ş. Within the scope of the "Creation of Strategic Management, Process Management and Internal Control System" project initiated with TÜDEMSAŞ for the development and improvement of the company's corporate management system, the TÜDEMSAŞ External Stakeholder Common Mind Platform workshop was held on May 22 at Sivas Thermal Hotel. In the workshop, which was held with the participation of leading organizations that direct the railways, bureaucrats, academicians and private sector representatives, ideas were exchanged to determine TÜDEMSAŞ's strengths, areas open to development, opportunities and threats it faces and to create a road map. Among the participants were TCDD, TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜVASAŞ, private sector wagon manufacturers, logistics companies, public institution and union representatives and subcontractors from across Turkey doing business for TÜDEMSAŞ.

Speaking in the program, Sivas Governor Davut Gül pointed out that TÜDEMSAŞ is an organization that is getting out of its shell and developing more and more every day, and stated that the Institution has become capable of meeting the needs of the future within the scope of national product mobilization in recent years. He emphasized that TÜDEMSAŞ, which has been in the life of Sivas and the people of Sivas since 1939, works like a school and trains qualified personnel, contributing to the country's economy and the development of the province.

TCDD Deputy General Manager Murat Kavak emphasized that the organization, which started operating under the name of Cer Atölyesi in 1939, contributed significantly to the development of the country and stated that the steam locomotive named Bozkurt, the first national railway vehicle, was produced in TÜDEMSAŞ. Stating that these breakthroughs stalled in the following years and railways were ignored for about 50 years, Kavak stated that after 2002, railways were again adopted as the primary means of railway transportation. Reminding that a national and local mobilization has been declared, Kavak stated that nearly 60 billion has been spent on railways so far. Gül emphasized that a new page should be opened in Sivas from now on and stated that there is a need for a breakthrough by the private sector, which produces domestic and national production under the leadership of TÜDEMSAŞ and produces for TÜDEMSAŞ.

TÜDEMSAŞ General Manager Yıldıray Koçarslan also expressed his gratitude to those who participated in the TÜDEMSAŞ External Stakeholder Common Mind Platform, which they organized with TÜSSİDE, affiliated with TUBİTAK, on strategic management, process management and business control system.

Mehmet Akif Köseoğlu, Head of Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Public Economic Enterprises Department of the Ministry of Development, emphasized the importance of strategic plan and strategic management approach.

Project coordinator, TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE expert Yasemin BÜLBÜL, gave information about the purpose of the workshop and the project and made statements about TÜSSİDE's experiences.

The workshop was attended by Dr. one of the consultants of TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE. It was conducted by İlkan SARIGÖL.

Participants of the workshop visited the TÜDEMSAŞ factory on the second day of the program and received information about the works. In addition, visits were made to major companies located in the Organized Industrial Zone, both suppliers of TÜDEMSAŞ and doing business in the railway sector. During the trip, renewed material stock areas were visited and information was obtained about the stock tracking system. During their visit to the Wagon Production Factory, the production stages of the new generation freight wagons with TSI certification were seen on site.
