The workshop, which was held within the scope of the "Study and Feasibility Project for the Creation of Konya - Karaman - Mersin Industry and Trade Corridor" carried out jointly by the KOP Region Development Administration and the Turkish Industrial Management and Management Institute (TÜSSİDE), was held on 28 February 2017 at Konya Dedeman Hotel.

The protocol speeches started with the opening speech of Mr. İhsan BOSTANCI, Chairman of KOP Regional Development Administration, continued with the speech of Mr. Memiş KÜTÜKÇÜ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Chamber of Industry, and were completed with the speech of Mr. Ziya ALTUNYALDIZ, and the workshop part was started.
In the workshop section, firstly, informative presentations were made to the participants. In the project, where scientific modeling studies will be carried out for the selection of the location and type of the "Special Economic Zone" after the information presentations, the prioritization studies of the model criteria have been carried out separately for each stakeholder. In the following sessions of the workshop, 3 different sessions were held: "Current Situation Determination of Konya Karaman Mersin Provinces with the Special Economy Zone Approach" and "Development of Proposals to Eliminate the Bottlenecks in the Establishment of the Special Economic Zone of Konya Karaman Mersin Provinces".
As a result of the studies, a pre-feasibility study will be carried out to establish a Special Economic Zone and trade corridor covering the Konya - Karaman - Mersin provinces for the KOP Region, which is rapidly advancing towards becoming an alternative for the stuck industrial and commercial activities in the Marmara Region.
